No registration or emails are required. Just download the VTS3 file, unzip it and put it in the correct place on your system.

The tonebanger-1 is a monosynth with 3 oscillators and a sampler, all which can be mixed together, with varying levels of distortion on each channel. The sampler and the oscillator section have separate envelopes. Everything goes through the filter. It is good for dubstep, speed garage, drum and bass and acid house bass lines, as well as monophonic leads.

It is a fairly basic synth plugin. It is here as a download mainly as a place where people can download it to test and report back to see how it works on various systems, while I continue to develop the synth and sort out my continuous integration pipeline with stuff like auto-testing and installer creating. So far I have tested it only on Cubase and Reaper on the PC and Reaper on the Mac. If anyone wants to download it and send me an email at dom@tonebanger.com and report how it works on their system, that would would be fantastic. The Mac version has been codesigned and notarised, the Windows version has just been zipped and uploaded.

The next version, tonebanger-4, is a lot more exciting, with wave tables, FM modulation, audio tape head integration and other stuff. You can see a demo of that here: tonebanger-4 wave table synth.

The Windows version

For a windows machine, the directory to put the .vst3 file in will probably be something like “C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3”. Consult the help in your Digital Audio Workstation if you need help finding the correct folder.

The Mac version:

For a Macintosh machine, the directory to put the .vst3 file in will probably be something like “/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3”. Consult the help in your Digital Audio Workstation if you need help finding the correct folder.
